Michelle joined the Directors Guild of Canada in 1994, and worked primarily as a First Assistant Director nationally and internationally. In her days as an Assistant Director, her work encompassed the critically acclaimed A MAP OF THE WORLD Produced by Kathleen Kennedy starring Julianne Moore and Sigourney Weaver, and the Miramax thriller MIMIC directed by Guillermo del Toro. In her more recent role as a Producer, she has released Marie Clements' Indigenous Feature RED SNOW and has written, directed and produced the short film GOOD INTENTIONS, produced MEET CUTE by Patrick Currie and GOOD GIRLS DON'T by Ana de Lara. Currently, she is in development with Anne Wheeler on her very personal dramatic feature RUDE AWAKENING and Guatemalan-France Director Jayro Bustamante on RITA.
Michelle obtained her BFA from York University and her Masters in Film from Staffordshire University (UK). She is an Adjunct Professor and Guest Lecturer in Film at many institutions including UBC, Emily Carr, Vancouver Film School, Langara College and New York University - Tisch School of Performing Arts.
