Tonya Hartz
Location Scout
BC - British Columbia District Council
I am a Location Scout based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and a member of the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC BC) and the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI). With a passion for location-driven scripts, I bring more than 25 years of experience to the table, constantly evolving and adapting to new challenges.
In response to the pandemic, I developed a 360-degree virtual tour system, which has proven invaluable for remote scouting. Additionally, I've recently integrated drone technology into my scouting toolkit, enhancing the scope of my work.
Back in 2010, I designed the curriculum for the Introduction to Location Scouting course offered by the DGC BC and dedicated seven years to educating hundreds of students. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, I was the first instructor to seamlessly transition to an online teaching format.
I also successfully organized a photography competition for location scouts in British Columbia and have written a couple of feature articles in LMGI's Compass Magazine.
