Aisling Chin-Yee is an award-winning producer, writer, and director. Aisling was named one of Canada’s Rising Film Stars by Now Magazine 2019. In 2021, New Yorker Magazine hailed her latest film as "a genre unto itself". She recently directed three episodes of the limited series Plan B, starring Patrick J. Adams and Karine Vanasse, and Aisling won the Directors Guild of Canada award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Mini-series. She is an executive producer for Plan B’s second season.
Her latest film, that she co-directed with Chase Joynt, and edited, is the documentary feature film, No Ordinary Man. It premiered at TIFF 2020, and named one of TIFF Top Ten films. The film took home the award for Best Canadian Feature Film at Toronto’s Inside Out LGBTQ Film Festival, the New Visions Award at RIDM, and the Audience Award for Best Documentary at Translations Film Festival, amongst other prizes. Aisling won the prize for Best Documentary Editing by the DGC.
Her feature film directorial debut, The Rest of Us, starring Heather Graham (Boogie Nights), Sophie Nélisse (YellowJackets), and Jodi Balfour (For All Mankind) premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2019.
