The requirements listed on the checklist are specific to persons who are looking to become a Registered Permittee with the Alberta DGC. Please note: Each District Council / Jurisdiction / Province has their own specific requirements on becoming a "Registered Permittee".

2. DGC Set Etiquette Course (ONLINE)
In Partnership with Film Training Manitoba

The Director’s Guild of Alberta and Film Training Manitoba are partnering to conduct this required training session to support film and television workers toward jobs and careers with Alberta’s industry. This Set Etiquette Course encompasses an understanding of the filmmaking process, and includes familiarity with the various procedures that are vitally important for communication and scheduling on a day-to-day basis. Since productions can employ many people in diverse fields, crew members rely on set etiquette for standards of behaviour, terminology, and communication between departments.

This course is specifically for individuals who are only looking to become a Registered Permittee and eventually a Member of the ADC - DGC. This course is not accepted by IATSE 212 as an equivalent to their "Set Etiquette and Protocol Course". If you are wanting to apply to both IATSE and the ADC DGC as a Permittee, we highly suggest that you enrol in the IATSE specific Set Etiquette and Protocol course, that they offer.

Additionally, if you are coming from out of Province, we do accept the ActSafe "Motion Picture Industry Orientation Course & Exam "MPIO" as an equivalent course to our DGC Set Etiquette course.
