The Manitoba District Council primary office is located on Treaty 1 Territory, the traditional territory of the Anishinaabek, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dene, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

The Manitoba District Council’s work also extends through Treaties 1,2,3,4 and 5, on the original lands of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We acknowledge that Winnipeg’s water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.

We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
