About Us
The Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) is a national labour organization that represents over 7,000 key creative and logistical personnel in the screen-based industry covering all areas of direction, design, production and editing. The DGC negotiates and administers collective agreements and lobbies extensively on issues of concern for Members including Canadian content conditions, CRTC regulations and ensuring that funding is maintained for Canadian film & television programming.
The DGC exists as the collective voice of the industry and takes action at three levels:
The DGC supports and facilitates Members' employment opportunities and represents Members' interests with regard to both the immediate work environments and future concerns as a labour force.
The DGC substantially expands the creative opportunities and potential of its current and growing Membership. The DGC's logistical infrastructure provides comprehensive training and development mechanisms within the context of emerging technologies. These cultivate a high level of professionalism and promote a spirit of collaboration in an extended creative community.
