Delegates from 40 countries have gathered in Toronto this week for the international general assembly of the Societies' Council for the Collective Management of Performers' Rights (SCAPR). The event is hosted by the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA). Founded in 1986, SCAPR is an international council for the development of the practical cooperation between performers' collective management organizations (CMOs).

Included in the assembly's agenda will be a disussion of SCAPR's new Virtual Recording Data Base (VRDB2) which will provide a centralized system for CMOs to efficiently and accurately exchange performer information across borders.

The Directors Guild of Canada wishes the best to ACTRA and SCAPR for a productive week.
