DGC DIRECTOR MINA SHUM SELECTED FOR INAUGURAL CBC BREAKING BARRIERS FUND
The CBC has announced the first three recipients of their new Breaking Barriers Fund. The initiative, which was announced in November 2016, is a way to help underrepresented creators, such as women, Indigenous people and other visible minorities, tell their stories. The CBC is to invest $7.5 million into the fund over the next three years.
The projects that will receive this round of funding are: Meditation Park, written by Mina Shum, Angelique's Isle, written by Michelle Derosier, and Octavio Is Dead! written by Sook-Yin Lee. Mina Shum is a DGC Director Member.
The DGC wishes the participants the best of luck and success while completing their projects.
