NATIONAL CANADIAN FILM DAY RECEIVES $3 MILLION IN GOVERNMENT FUNDING
National Canadian Film Day (NCFD) has secured funding from both the provincial and federal governments, for a total over $3 million in funding.
NCFD will take place on April 19, 2017 and will be one of the cultural events celebrating Canada’s sesquicentennial next year.
The announcement was made at last week’s Reel Canada press conference at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.
Last year, NCFD included more than 350 screenings across Canada. This year’s NCFD will also include 150 free screenings as part of the TIFF film circuit, an Indigenous Film Summit and more.
The DGC congratulates Reel Canada in this initiative and looks forward to the celebration of Canadian film.
