Production has begun on the new short film Women Seen, a project created by the ACTRA National Women’s Committee.

The short film will tell the stories of women working in film and television, exposing how they are underrepresented in all areas of media, including as protagonists, writers, directors, producers and more.

DGC Director Amanda Tapping is directing the short film. The crew is composed entirely of female members of ACTRA, ACTRA; IATSE locals 873, 891, 669 and 667; DGC BC; DGC ON; NABET and Teamsters.

The Directors Guild of Canada wishes the crew the best of luck and supports their efforts to create more diversity and inclusion in the industry.
