TIFF’S CANADA ON SCREEN PROGRAMME WILL HONOUR CANADA’S 150TH BIRTHDAY
In honour of Canada’s sesquicentennial in 2017, TIFF has announced a new programme, Canada on Screen, an extension of the Canada’s Top Ten programme.
TIFF will screen 150 of the most important Canadian films, documentaries, TV shows and other moving images in Canada’s history. The screenings, which will begin in January in theatres across the country, will be free and open to the public. On April 18, 2017 TIFF Film Circuit will be joining forces with REEL Canada’s National Canadian Film Day 150 to screen free films at 150 Film Circuit locations. TIFF will also feature moving-image installations and artists talks in summer 2017 at the HSBC Gallery.
The extensive list of films includes many important works from DGC Directors including Jennifer Baichwal, David Cronenberg, Atom Egoyan, Patricia Rozema, and Clement Virgo to name a few.
