The Directors Guild of Canada would like to congratulate DGC Director Xavier Dolan. Dolan's film Juste la fin du monde was selected to represent Canada in the Best Foreign-Language Film category for the 2017 Oscars. The film premiered at Cannes this year and won the Grand Prix and Ecumenical Jury Prize and was also part of the official selection of the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.

The short list of nominees will be announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in December.
