I have been both editing and directing for over a decade on documentary, narrative, tv and music video productions. "Material Success" (2012) was my inaugural feature documentary film as both director and editor, which won Best Film by Audience Choice at the Canadian Film Festival, and Best Documentary at The Toronto Independent Film Festival, and I edited the short film "Betrayal" (2018) which won the Corus HotDocs Forum Pitch. Most recently, I am editing an online series directed by Maya Bastian (release in 2022/23), I directed and edited the online series "The Confinement" (will be released in 2022) and I have been editing Tyson Sadlers feature documentary film "Born Explorers" (will be released in 2022, Elevation Pictures + Utopia) (Winner of CSC R.B. Award For Documentary Long Format Cinematography, Nominated for the Rob Stewart Eco Warrior Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival). In the advertising world, I have edited over a hundred projects for various brands.
Stories are a way we are able to connect empathetically to the inner lives of characters, and in this identification an audiences world view can change—this power of film has enriched my own life as an audience member and motivated my deep passions as a storyteller.
As editor, I collaborate with director to find the best path to reveal the directors story and characters to audiences and I am motivated by the unique synergy of this relationship. I have also worked as a writer on two feature documentary films.
As a director I am interested in stories of redemption and stories that explore polarities of character, and am drawn to documentary, surrealism, and horror. After graduating from Ryerson University Image Arts Film School, I continued to study for 5 years under John Riven the Sanford Meisner technique for acting and directing.
