Dave Blass recently served as the Production Designer on the Paramount+ Series "Star Trek Picard" the Amazon original series "The Boys", AMC's "Preacher" and the modern day westerns "Justified" and "Longmire"
Blass grew up in Ashland, Mass., and received his degree from Emerson College in Boston.
Arriving in Los Angeles, Blass followed in the footsteps of many, working at Roger Corman’s shop in Venice and learning how to design on a dime. After some 20 films, he made his first foray into television as the Production Designer on the Sci-Fi Channel graphic novel-style series, "The Black Scorpion". The children’s movie Labou signaled his return to scripted work, followed by his work on Cold Case, and eventually taking on production design duties on the FX hit series Justified. Blass received two Emmy® nominations for his work on Justified, as well as the honor of being made Kentucky Colonel by the State of Kentucky. After Justified, he moved to NBC where he designed the series Constantine, based on the graphic novel Hellblazer, for which he garnered his third Emmy nomination for production design. The series Rectify, "Pitch" and "Secrets and Lies" followed, before he returned to graphic novels with AMC’s "Preacher", produced and directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Blass received his third Art Directors Guild Award nomination for his design work on Preacher followed by his fourth for their collaboration on "The Boys"
"The Boys" marks the third graphic novel by Garth Ennis that Blass has translated to the screen.
