Over the last ten years, Ben Gerlis has designed a wide range of sets and environments for commercials, promos, tv, and experiential live events. His work is tactile and aesthetically striking, incorporating practical in-camera effects, theatrical techniques, model-making and stop-motion animation. His approach is fuelled by meticulous visual research, a passion for detail and an eye for innovative design solutions.
Recently, Ben made his television debut with the TIFF premiered comedy series BRIA MACK GETS A LIFE, to much acclaim.
Ben studied Set Design at the Wimbledon School of Art, and trained in scenic drafting at the National Theatre in London. He co-founded the London based design studio Stripeland in 2012, and has been based in Toronto since 2017.
