Initially an actor, Liz has performed onscreen and on stage as an actor, improviser and stand-up comedian. She has produced several short films which have screened at TIFF, Cannes, and beyond, and associate-produced the Canadian Screen Award-winning The Neddeaus of Duqesne Island.
With a love of surreal imagery and magic realism, Liz is passionate about representation of neurodivergent and gender-nonconforming people in media. Her short film, Up To Here, is a reality-bending exploration of one woman’s unsuccessful search for mental solitude.
Liz is an alum of the 2022-2023 cohort of Women in the Director’s Chair Story & Leadership program. She also recently produced Season 1 - directing episodes 5 & 6 - of ZARQA, from the creator of Little Mosque on the Prairie, now streaming on CBC Gem. She will return to direct on Season 2.
