2022 National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Statement
September 30 marks the second annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. DGC Ontario stands with the survivors of residential schools as well as their families and communities. Today is an opportunity to reflect on the history of this land, the peoples and cultures who were here before settler contact, and the ongoing impact of colonialism.
DGC Ontario strongly encourages all Members to honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, whether through education and awareness, by supporting organizations working to uplift Indigenous Peoples, or by participating in Indigenous-led events within your communities.
DGC Ontario Members in need of support at this time, please remember that your Member Assistance Program (MAP) provides you with immediate and confidential help for any work, health or life concern. Access your Member Assistance Program (MAP) 24/7 by phone (1-800-387-4765), web (workhealthlife.com) or via the downloadable mobile app.
