The Directors Guild of Canada hosted an advanced screening of the new CBC crime series Shoot the Messenger, created by DGC director Sudz Sutherland and partner Jennifer Holness. The screening of Episode 1 took place Wednesday October 5 at The Royal and was followed by a lively Q&A with Sudz Sutherland, Jennifer Holness and the show's production designer Rupert Lazarus. The Q&A was moderated by director Kari Skogland.

The tense drama explores the worlds of journalism and crime in Toronto. The audience was blown away by the pilot’s tightly written script, stylish cinematography and tense ending. The series airs on CBC Monday nights at 9 PM.
