Cynthia Lynch has been named as the next managing director and counsel of FilmOntario, effective starting in July. She will take over from Mimi Wolch, who has been interim managing director since October 2015. Lynch will be in charge of outreach and communication with FilmOntario’s 31,000 members, and will support the organization’s board in its lobbying and advocacy work. Lynch has over 10 years of experience working with the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) and also studied law, specializing in privacy, intellectual property, communications law and technology.

FilmOntario, which was formed in 2001, represents a consortium of 31,000 producers, organizations, guilds and unions, working with government to ensure the province’s screen-based industries remain competitive.

DGC Ontario congratulations Ms. Lynch on her new position and wishes her all the best.
