INDIECAN20K SEEKS ONTARIO'S FIRST-TIME FEATURE FILMMAKERS
Avi Federgreen, of Indiecan Entertainment and Federgreen Entertainment, is pleased to announce that submissions have officially opened for Indiecan20K. Indiecan20K is the second edition of his initiative to launch the careers of first-time feature filmmakers.
Revamped and under the new banner of Indiecan20K, the initiative will select two filmmakers to participate - one from Northern Ontario and one from Southern Ontario and provide the two filmmakers the production and post-production services, funds and mentorship to get a first feature completed. Both filmmakers will be co-mentored through the filmmaking process by DGC director Warren P. Sonoda (Trailer Park Boys, Swearnet: The Movie, Cooper's Camera) and Federgreen. Federgreen will announce the Indiecan20K winners in December. The filmmakers must then shoot and complete their films by the April 30, 2018 with the goal to hit the 2018 film festival circuit. Federgreen's Indiecan distribution company will release the films in Canada once they have travelled around the festival circuit.
The deadline to apply is October 31, 2016.
