Becoming a Director Member

In order to become a Director member, you must either:

• Have signed a Director's contract on a DGC-signed production, such as with the NFB or a DGC production;

OR

• Be an independent filmmaker with at least one feature film that has been screened at two festivals on the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television's list of recognized festivals within the last five years;

OR

• Have a Director credit for at least 75 minutes of commercially distributed content that meets the following criteria:
  
  
  

Criteria to be met in order for a production to qualify:

• The first commercial release of the production is within five years of your application date to the DGC;

AND

• The production must be of a genre and format recognized by one of the DGC’s collective agreements.

Once the application is approved, the membership forms and details will be sent to you by email.
