Becoming a Director Member
In order to become a Director member, you must either:
- Have signed a Director's contract on a DGC-signed production, such as with the NFB or a DGC production;
OR
- Be an independent filmmaker with at least one feature film that has been screened at two festivals on the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television's list of recognized festivals within the last five years;
OR
- Have a Director credit for at least 75 minutes of commercially distributed content that meets the following criteria:
Criteria to be met in order for a production to qualify:
- The first commercial release of the production is within five years of your application date to the DGC;
AND
- The production must be of a genre and format recognized by one of the DGC’s collective agreements.
If you wish to have your application validated, please send your resume and proof of eligibility by email to Anne Arminjon, Membership Services Coordinator, at aarminjon@dgc.ca (please do not send in compressed .zip format).
Once the application is approved, the membership forms and details will be sent to you by email.
