Montréal - Netflix, L'inis and the Directors Guild – Québec district council are pleased to announce the creation of a new training program offered by L’inis and aimed at future assistant production accountants. Through the initiative and thanks to the financial participation of Netflix, this 70-hour training course has been designed by the Guild and aims to introduce the participants to the rules and accounting practices in effect within the production structure of the American company as well as fostering their employability.

The increase in Netflix production activities on Canadian and Quebec territories requires the hiring of trained and skilled personnel familiar to accounting standards in effect in the company. The objective of the course is to also plan the succession of assistant accountants for American productions shot in Quebec. This is the first course in its genre to be offered in Canada.

The two-week program started on February 18th with fifteen participants attending workshops by industry experts as well as comprehensive theoretical courses to help understand the essential concepts related to production accounting.

Chantal Barrette, Directors Guild’s business agent for the Quebec district council is delighted by this initiative demonstrating the importance of the employer-union collaboration for members skills development and achieving highest quality standards in service delivery.
