It is with great pleasure that we announce a new inter-union partnership for occupational health and safety (OHS) in the audiovisual production field. Four organizations (ACTRA, ARRQ, DGC and UDA) have joined forces to ensure the health and safety of their members on the various productions and have brought in an expert to fill the new role of OHS Representative.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Mr. Yves Charbonneau, who has more than 20 years of experience as a Health and Safety Preventionist on audiovisual productions, and who will act as an expert resource in partnership with the teams already in place in the organizations. His main duties will be to answer questions from members of the four organizations regarding health and safety issues, to support the Labour Relations Advisors and, if necessary, to make occasional visits to productions (on set and off set).

This initiative comes in response to the requirements of the "interim plan" resulting from the Act to modernize the occupational health and safety system. This new addition is a continuation of the national joint committee that was created earlier this year to identify the risks in the audiovisual production sector and, above all, to take action to ensure the health and safety of the various teams composed of artists, creators, logistics personnel and technicians.

To report any unsafe practices or to voice your concerns regarding the health and safety, on set or off set, we invite you to contact him either by email at ohs@comitenationalsst.ca, or by phone at 514-416-0040 or 1-888-552-0040.
